Why Do I Keep Giving Up On Weight Loss?

Are you wondering "Why Do I Keep Giving Up On My Weight Loss?". It might be due to a reason that is common amongst people who have a habit of giving up on their weight loss journey soon after starting it.

See if you’re sharp enough to draw the reason/lesson from this email I sent to my list recently:

Right now, I’m struggling to string a sentence together.

Tired.

Minds foggy.

As energised as a French bulldog (I prob look like one too).

This won’t be a prefect email.

My goal isn’t to create perfect emails but - the goal is to consistently write emails, whether they turn out perfect or not.

And consistency, rather than perfectionism, produces more consistent and sustainable results.

For example, this imperfect email is going to produce 2 results:

  1. If you're still reading it, it means what I am saying, although not fully clear right now, is resonating, and because it is, by the time you get to the end of the email, the way you think about weight loss will change. Great result

  2. At least 2 people will respond to this imperfect email after reading it to enquire about my transformation programme. Great result

If my goal was to write prefect emails, I wouldn’t have begun writing this.

And if I didn’t write it, the two results I mentioned wouldn’t come about.

Get the lesson yet about "Why Do I Keep Giving Up On Weight Loss"?

Well, maybe like myself, your mind might be a bit foggy today, so let me be more clear:

  1. If you attempt to be perfect on your weight loss journey, you will eventually give up on it - if you even start in the first place. And you'll continue to ask yourself: Why Do I Keep Giving Up On Weight Loss?

  2. If instead you focus on taking imperfect, but consistent action, you will find it a lot less overwhelming and be a lot more likely to arrive and stay at your desired weight loss “destination”.

Speaking of destinations, before I finish this wonderfully imperfect email, think about this to further “drive” the lesson home:

When you first attempted to drive, bet it felt like you were trying to drive a spaceship?

And I bet you didn’t expect to be a perfect driver right away.

And what do you think would of happened if you did expect to be perfect?

Would the extra overwhelm have made you turn back and give up?

What about now?

I bet you no longer get confused, overwhelmed and frustrated.

Bet you can physically drive down a road, and be off elsewhere mentally?

Exercise and nutrition work the same way.

While you don't expect to be a world classes driver the first time you get into a car, when you first start out learning how to exercise and eat well in order to lose weight, you expect perfection like you've been at it for years, and then wonder why you get so overwhelmed and give up, with the question "Why Do I Keep Giving Up On Weight Loss?" still running through your mind

At first, like driving, exercise and nutrition can be confusing.

You make mistakes.

You stall.

But the more you get into the “vehicle” of exercise and nutrition and get familiar with the different components - without trying to be perfect - the sooner it all “clicks” and becomes second nature; helping you get to your desired “destination” a lot more smoothly. The question: "Why Do I Keep Giving Up On Weight Loss?" then turns into a statement: "Now I know Why I Kept Giving Up On Weight Loss!".

If the lesson is fully clear now, start putting it into practice..
